Fast-tracking Innovation Entrepreneurship & Leadership Development (FIELD) Africa through her startup challenge invites young African entrepreneurs to create solutions that are scalable for the poor access in the region, leveraging technology and the mobile economy.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Orji Austin, FIELD Africa CIO noted that “According to a 2015 McKinsey & Company report, the growth of e-commerce is expected to reach 10% of Africa’s retail business. A huge percentage of the remaining business is done using traditional logistic challenged with poor road & transportation infrastructure. Also, while governments across Africa are making efforts to fix infrastructure, startups with genuine idea and vision to create easy access leveraging technology and innovation to drive value both to the urban cities and the people living at the bottom of the pyramid are invited to join the FIELD startup challenge”.

FIELD Africa notes that, this platform will afford selected participants $20,000 worth of business support, access to a support network and finance to enable the entrepreneurs scale their impact by scaling their venture. Entrepreneurs working in other critical sectors such as; Healthcare, Clean energy, Education, Financial inclusion, Water & sanitation and Agriculture are also encourage to apply.

Interested persons are to proceed to the organization’s website at http://www.fieldafrica.com for further application details. All applicants are to note that applications will be evaluated on a roll-in basis. Applicants that are first to apply stand a better chance.
